Tres Leches cake recipe is an old recipe that has been prepared since ages, but nowadays I think it reaches the zenith of its popularity.
There are certainly many ways that are used to prepare such recipe.
The main point of such dessert is preparing a delicious sponge cake enriched with three types of milk and extraordinary caramel cream.
Today I’m presenting the way I prepare tres leches cake, which believe me it will make you feel amazed.
Ingredients you need to prepare the sponge cake for Tres Leches Cake Recipe :
300 gr. sugar
300 gr. flour
Preparation of sponge cake:
First, whisk both egg whites and sugar together until they turn into a kind of snow, and then add egg yolks one after another.
Add previously mixed flour and baking powder when eggs are whisked enough.
Then, grease the baking tray, into which you’ll bake the sponge cake, with butter and put some flour.
Bake for around half an hour, first at 200 C, but then decrease the temperature to 180 C until it is completely baked.
Put aside baked sponge cake to cool down, and dice it on your own.
In meanwhile mix three types of milk:
1 L. regular high fat milk
1 cup coffee milk
3 cups regular sweet cream
Mix all types of milk and pour onto the sponge cake, but only after it is cooled down.
Spread caramel cream onto the cubes of sponge cake when it is completely cooled down.
I always have my homemade caramel cream on disposal at my kitchen, but you can also use the one it is sold at markets.
Your tres leches cake is ready.
Refrigerate your dessert for an hour or two so that sponge cake absorbs milk well into it.
