Every time I talk about homemade bread, I always recommend a kind prepared with garlic and rosemary as the best choice ever.
The aroma that both garlic and rosemary produce during baking, makes the taste of this kind of bread just perfect, with the feeling of its smell all around your kitchen.
Ingredients for aromatic homemade bread :
200gr. Integral flour
400gr. regular white flour
350ml. lukewarm water
10gr. dry yeast
½ tsp salt
2 tbsp cooking oil
5 cloves of garlic
2 fresh rosemary branches
1 tsp flax seed
(Adding sunflower seeds, sesame or pumpkin seed is optional)
Procedure for preparing aromatic homemade bread :
Melt the yeast into lukewarm water, and add the sugar and some salt.
Mix the two types of flour aside, add some salt, sugar and flax seed.
Add one fine-cut rosemary branch into the flour.
Peel the garlic cloves, cut into small pieces, (you can also perform this with your kitchen press), and add into the flour.
Knead some dough with water adding continually, and make sure all ingredients become smoothly consistent.
Put the dough aside to increase its volume, and cover it with kitchen towel.
When the dough is ready, knead it all well again, spread with rolling pin and cut one crust.
Roll the crust into a roulade. You can also shape the dough whatever you like.
Put the dough into a baking tray with paper previously prepared into it.
Remove the rosemary needles from the other rosemary branch and pin them into the dough.
Put the dough aside to increase the volume, but make it just for a while.
Preheat the oven at 250 C, put the baking tray into it, and immediately reduce the temperature at 200 C.
It all goes well for approximately 40 minutes, so that baking temperature could be easily reduced at 180 C.
Sprinkle the already baked bread with some water, and cover with kitchen cotton towel.
